Owners, patrons worried as bars go smoke-free
URBANA – It's the Friday evening before Christmas, and the Rose Bowl is hopping.
About 25 people are crowded around the large, circular bar in downtown Urbana. Icicle lights along the top of the bar add an air of Christmas festivity. Patrons are laughing, talking, sipping beers and – almost uniformly – smoking cigarettes.
