Man convicted in beating of girlfriend
URBANA – A Champaign man convicted of three charges stemming from the beating of his girlfriend in September faces up to 30 years in prison when he is sentenced next month.
A Champaign County jury deliberated a little more than an hour Wednesday before convicting Daniel Lee Turner, 43, who listed an address in the 500 block of West Beardsley Avenue, of aggravated battery, vehicular hijacking and unlawful restraint.
