Jakobsson proposes mandatory vaccination for girls
SPRINGFIELD – Nearly all sixth-grade girls in Illinois would have to get a vaccine to help prevent cervical cancer, under new legislation sponsored by state Rep. Naomi Jakobsson, D-Urbana.
"This is a potentially life-saving measure that would protect many young women from cancer," Jakobsson said on Thursday.
