Mediacom viewers could lose ABC shows at midnight
Thousands of television viewers who subscribe to Mediacom cable TV may no longer get ABC programming from WICD in Champaign or WICS in Springfield as soon as midnight tonight. But the Federal Communications Commission is encouraging the two sides to submit to binding arbitration.
Mediacom, which serves many of the small towns in East Central Illinois, and Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns WICD and WICS, remained deadlocked early this morning over how much Mediacom will pay Sinclair for the right to air its stations' programming.
