Health committee OKs animal shelter fee increases
DANVILLE – It may cost several dollars more to adopt a pet from the Vermilion County Animal Shelter if the county board approves some new increases.
Currently, it costs $74.50 to adopt a puppy, kitten, dog or cat from the county animal shelter on Catlin-Tilton Road west of Tilton. That fee could increase to $80, which would still be less than fees in neighboring counties like Champaign, where adoption fees range from $85 to $120.
