Next step: Address public housing
DANVILLE – Kellee Gilbert listened to her five children playing at her Fair Oaks apartment. It was just after lunch, and the kids were enjoying an unexpected day off.
Gilbert, 26, moved to Danville 18 months ago from Chicago, where she lived with her mom and worked for $8 an hour at a seasonal job with the Chicago White Sox.
