SPRINGFIELD – Tougher teen driving laws can significantly reduce the number of fatal crashes involving 16-year-olds, according to a study released today by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety..

"Motor vehicle crashes remain the No. 1 cause of death for teens in the United States, and roughly 1,000 16-year-old drivers are involved in fatal crashes each year," said a statement from AAA Chicago President Brad Roeber.
