Wet weather blamed for Westville water main breaks
WESTVILLE – Village officials said Thursday they are dealing with an unusual number of buried water main breaks this winter – including a serious one earlier this week.
Mayor Jeff Slavik said the village's water and sewer department had to uncover and repair a broken water main on Locust Street on Feb. 5, a broken main on Illinois Street on Wednesday and one on Moore Street on Thursday. A fourth break, on Kentucky Street, is scheduled to be repaired today.
