President: Money needed for UI faculty salaries
SPRINGFIELD – University of Illinois President B. Joseph White on Friday asked lawmakers for money to help counter "unbelievably aggressive recruitment" of UI faculty by out-of-state schools.
Although the UI requested an 8 percent increase in state support, White said the 1.5 percent boost in the Illinois Board of Higher Education's proposed budget was "definitely welcome."
