State Senate approves funding for stem cell research
SPRINGFIELD – After two years of failed attempts, the Illinois Senate on Friday approved public funding for all forms of stem cell research, including those cells extracted from embryos.
"Science is leading us in this direction, and we should take it by the hand and move forward together," said state Sen. Jeff Schoenberg, D-Evanston, the sponsor of SB 4.
