After 40 years of discussion, street set to be widened
GIBSON CITY – City officials have talked about a major improvement to north Melvin Street for more than 40 years, and this summer, it will become a reality.
Widening, resurfacing and storm drainage work to Melvin Street from 13th Street to 18th Street will begin as soon as school dismisses for the summer, and the hope is that it will be completed before school resumes in the fall, according to City Superintendent Randy Stauffer.
