Leader of gang sentenced to life in federal prison
URBANA – A Kankakee man who was shown in trial evidence to be leader of a gang of robbers was sentenced Monday to life in federal prison.
But not before he continued to deny any involvement, claiming that police and federal prosecutors never produced any fingerprints or DNA evidence linking him to the theft of more than $400,000 in violent "takeover" robberies.
