Lawsuit filed over changes to boundaries
URBANA – Champaign Township is suing the Champaign County Board over its Jan. 25 decision to redraw township boundaries.
The complaint was filed March 1 in Champaign County Circuit Court and asks the court to void the county board's vote, contending that the county board had no legal power to adjust a conterminous township's boundaries after a disconnection referendum has been held. No court date has been scheduled.
