Boot camp recommended for man for cannabis guilty plea
URBANA – A Michigan man caught in Champaign County with 12 pounds of cannabis destined for Detroit was sentenced Thursday to six years in prison.
Judge Heidi Ladd agreed to recommend Kyle Lawrence, 25, of Southfield, Mich., for the Department of Corrections' boot camp program, a 120-day rigorous military-style regimen instead of the traditional prison sentence.
