Five guards hired for Ford County courthouse
PAXTON – The Ford County Courthouse will soon have its first formal security system since board members agreed Monday to hire up to five armed guards as the first step.
The guards will operate a secure entrance with metal detector at the courthouse's main south door. Ford County Sheriff Mark Doran will hire only part-time guards, with a total annual salary expense of about $21,000.
