Southwest Champaign approves tax to fight MTD
CHAMPAIGN – Southwest Champaign residents voted to support a tax to take the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District to court.
By a 70 percent vote, 554 to 243, voters in the Champaign Southwest Mass Transit District agreed to a tax for the newborn district of 2.6 cents per $100 of equalized assessed valuation.
