Denied request to quiz trustees ruffles feathers
SPRINGFIELD – Senate Republicans protested a decision to prevent questioning of three University of Illinois trustees on Friday, but were unable to block a committee vote on the appointments of Robert Vickrey, James Montgomery and Chairman Lawrence Eppley.
The Senate executive appointments committee confirmed the trio on a party-line vote, and the full Senate is expected to approve them next week.
