Champaign man to get new trial
URBANA – A Champaign County judge has ordered a new trial for a Champaign man convicted of home invasion and sex abuse in an Urbana case from more than two years ago.
A Champaign County jury last July convicted Patrick Thompson, 38, who listed an address in the 1800 block of Winchester Drive, of those charges, the more serious of which mandated a prison term of between six and 30 years.
