Family ties connect UI to site of rampage

BLACKSBURG, Va. – April 16 started like any other Monday at Virginia Tech and the University of Illinois, before the world learned of a killer named Seung-Hui Cho.

Though the campuses are hundreds of miles apart, family ties would connect them on this day of fear, sadness and horror.
