Valenti recalled as 'one of a kind, formidable intellect'
News of the death of Jack Valenti, a guest at the 2004 Overlooked Film Festival, began to spread through the 2007 festival crowd on Thursday afternoon.
Mr. Valenti, then director of the Motion Picture Association of America, was at the 2004 festival to discuss the impact of digital technology on the industry. While here three years ago, he took part in a panel discussion and joined Ebert onstage at the Virginia Theatre after the screening of "Lawrence of Arabia."
