Families, seniors focus of United Way funds
CHAMPAIGN – Stronger families and senior citizens are top priorities in the new grants announced today by the Champaign County United Way.
Nearly 60 agencies across the county will share $1.1 million in funding this year. They include grants to 13 new programs providing health care to the indigent, meals for the elderly and services to homeless families, among other needs. About $40,000 was set aside for needs that may emerge later in the year.
