State smoking ban clears hurdle
SPRINGFIELD – Legislation on its way to the governor's desk would stub out smoking in bars and restaurants across the state starting Jan. 1.
"It's time we listened to the vast majority of Illinoisans who do not smoke, and set some boundaries for smoking," said state Rep. Karen Yarbrough, D-Maywood. "Let's take a stand for public health."
