71 people face alcohol charges after two bar sweeps
CHAMPAIGN – Two bar sweeps conducted during the past nine days have resulted in 71 people being arrested or cited on alcohol charges.
Operation Campus Tap, conducted jointly by Champaign police and the Illinois State Police, conducted enforcement checks on April 27 and Thursday, with the goal of reducing and deterring underage drinking. The checks were the 10th and 11th conducted this year by the agencies.
