Westville bans smoking in village-owned buildings, vehicles
WESTVILLE –Village officials voted Tuesday to ban smoking in all village-owned buildings and vehicles starting on June 1 in an effort to protect health and safety.
Mayor Jeff Slavik said smoking was already prohibited in village hall, the police department building and the senior center, but was still allowed in the village maintenance garage, the outbuildings used by the gas and water department and in the water-treatment station pump building – most of which contain chemicals or fuel.
