Demonstration to cut Danville library's Internet service
DANVILLE – Internet service at The Danville Public Library will be unavailable Monday as part of a statewide demonstration to inform patrons of a proposed bill in the state legislature's rules committee.
Under the proposed Internet Screening and Public Libraries Act , HB1727, libraries would be required to install filtering software on public-access computers. Libraries would be allowed to turn off the filters at the request of an adult user or a child accompanied by an adult.
