Newly re-elected Monticello councilman quits
MONTICELLO – Just weeks after winning re-election to the Monticello City Council, Jack Weisenborn announced Friday he will resign and move to Springfield to accept a position in the office of State Treasurer Alex Giannoulias.
"It's an exciting new job for him," Monticello Mayor Bill Mitze said. "He is certainly going into an area where he can be a real asset. He is hard working and well prepared. He was a good councilman who represented his ward well."
