Urbana officials anticipate budget surplus
URBANA – The city of Urbana is proposing a balanced budget for the upcoming fiscal year, with an expected surplus of $65,000 in a $39.3 million spending plan.
The budget, which would take effect July 1, calls for adding a second assistant city attorney and upgrading three part-time positions to full time, for an increase in full-time-equivalent employees of two. The city now has a total work force of 322 employees, compared with 295 employees a decade ago.
