Cell phone use law proposed to city councils
URBANA – The parents of Matt Wilhelm, a 25-year-old bicyclist who was killed last September by a distracted teen driver using her cell phone, are beginning a petition drive asking the Urbana and Champaign city councils to ban drivers from using their cell phones.
Chuck and Gloria Wilhelm will be at Urbana's Market at the Square this morning collecting signatures and providing information on the initiative. Market at the Square is held in the Lincoln Square Village parking lot, near the corner of Vine and Illinois streets.
