Champaign man faces multiple drug charges
URBANA – A Champaign man faces up to 60 years in prison if convicted of the most serious of the drug charges filed against him Friday after police found almost 2 pounds of cocaine and 14 pounds of cannabis in the home where he was.
Assistant Champaign County State's Attorney Dan Clifton said Bryant Douglas, 29, who listed an address in the 1100 block of North James Street, was arrested Thursday by Champaign police after they served a search warrant at a home in the 1400 block of Holly Hill Drive in Champaign and found him trying to flush cocaine down the toilet. Douglas also had $2,096 cash and 20 grams of cannabis in his pants pockets, Clifton said.
