Group wants training, standards, licensing for 'lay' midwives
CHAMPAIGN – The first time Andrea Rice gave birth at home, it was an accident resulting from a hasty labor.
The second time, she and husband Corben planned a home delivery from the start. And that's because the accidental home birth was something of a revelation to Rice, a 28-year-old Champaign mother of four.
