Bill to let parents see kids' driving records OK'd
SPRINGFIELD – Teens stopped for speeding would no longer be able to hide such violations from their parents, under legislation on its way to the governor's desk.
HB 518 would allow parents and guardians free access to their teen's driving record online. The access would end after the driver's 18th birthday. If Gov. Rod Blagojevich signs the bill into law, it would take effect on Jan. 1, 2008.
