Democrats fail to meet budget deadline
SPRINGFIELD – Although Chicago Democrats control every part of state government, they failed to agree on a budget by Thursday night's deadline, prompting what could be a long overtime session.
"Last time I checked, they had the governor's office, the House, the Senate and every constitutional office, yet they clearly have no idea how to govern," said state Rep. Chapin Rose, R-Mahomet.
