Man gets five years for attack using rock
URBANA – A Rantoul man who clubbed a woman in the head with a rock inside a sock was sentenced Thursday to five years in prison.
The sentence was the maximum that Jeremy Price, 20, who listed an address in the 400 block of Letchworth Avenue, could have received for the Dec. 24, 2006, aggravated battery to Murlene Brown. A jury convicted him last month of that offense, declining to convict him of the more serious charge of attempted murder.
