Police officers shot near West Side Park
Champaign police officers were injured in a shooting on Church Street on the north side of West Side Park, according to a police spokeswoman. The shooting occurred at about 7:40 p.m. Thursday.
Rene Dunn, the assistant to the chief of police, could not confirm Thursday night how many officers were injured or the extent of their injuries. She said families were being notified.
