Danville taking a few more laps against cancer
DANVILLE – When Eric Turner got involved in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, it was because the disease struck people close to him.
"My grandfather went from 185 pounds down to about 85 pounds and was in so much pain, it was hard to take," Turner said of the eventual death of his grandfather in 1997. "He was my best friend. Cancer stripped him of everything he loved to do."
