Man receives 12-year sentence for burglary
URBANA – A homeless man suspected in a string of crimes in Champaign and Urbana was sentenced Wednesday to 12 years in prison for one.
John Powell, 49, pleaded guilty to a single count of residential burglary, admitting that on April 30, he broke into an apartment in the 100 block of East John Street, Champaign, while the resident was home.
