Two jailed after bid to steal ammonia
DAILEY – Two Potomac men were in the Champaign County Jail this morning after their arrests Thursday night for trying to steal anhydrous ammonia in eastern Champaign County.
Champaign County sheriff's Sgt. Dan Coile said he and two other deputies were patrolling in the area of the Illini FS plant on County Road 2700 E near Dailey about 11:30 p.m. when Sgt. Will Davis spotted a pickup truck going slow in front of the plant and then saw a man running toward anhydrous tanks there.
