Independence Day celebrations guide

Independence Day celebrations will start this morning and end some 12 hours later, moving from one side of town to the other.

For the first time in years, C-U fireworks won't be held near the University of Illinois Memorial Stadium; instead, they'll be at Dodds Park, next to Parkland College in northwest Champaign.
