I-74's westbound lanes face long closure after fiery crash
DOWNS – A section of Interstate 74 will remain closed to westbound traffic for at least two weeks while state workers repair a bridge damaged in a fiery tanker-truck crash Saturday afternoon.
One eastbound lane reopened early Sunday about a half-mile west of Downs, where the accident occurred, said spokesman Mike Claffey of the Illinois Department of Transportation.
