Meningitis suspected in Vermilion death
DANVILLE – Local health officials suspect bacterial meningitis killed a child from Vermilion County.
The patient, whose identity is not being released by authorities because of health privacy laws, was admitted to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville sometime in the last several days and transferred to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, where the child died.
