Budget stalemate clouds groups' futures
SPRINGFIELD – Lawmakers aren't the only ones being kept in limbo during this summer's extended budget stalemate. Schools, universities, local agencies and community service organizations still do not know how much state money to expect during the budget year that began July 1.
"It would be nice to know, because we are having to do more estimating at this point than we really should," said Gene Logas, chief financial officer for the Champaign school district.
