Champaign clears way for water plant
CHAMPAIGN – Even though neighbors vigorously protested plans for a new water plant west of Champaign, city council members Tuesday approved an annexation agreement that clears the way for it to be built.
Afterward, opponents of the plan, which passed by a 7-2 margin, said they're not done fighting.
