Flags to fly at half-staff to honor victim
TUSCOLA – Douglas County Board Chairman Chuck Knox has ordered all flags in the county to be flown at half-staff for the next 30 days following the death of Chief Deputy Tom Martin, who was killed in the line of duty.
"Tommy was an outstanding law enforcement officer, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a friend to hundreds of folks in central Illinois," Knox said. "We ask everyone to keep Tommy and his family in their prayers, and all his friends and co-workers who share this painful sense of loss."
