Savoy official shocked by latest population estimates

SAVOY – Savoy Village Manager Dick Helton is perplexed by Census Bureau estimates placing the village's population at only 4,847 in 2006.

Helton said a special census conducted in 2003 indicated the village's population had risen to 5,606.
