Urbana sheriff's office warns about phone solicitor
URBANA – An Ogden citizen complained to the Champaign County sheriff's office last week of being harassed by a telephone solicitor purporting to represent the Illinois Police Patrolmans Association.
Learning that the call came from the Bloomington area, the sheriff's office checked with authorities there and found no such organization legitimately asking for funds. The sheriff's office does not do phone solicitation.
