Campus area attacks prompt warning by police
CHAMPAIGN – In the wake of two attacks on women near the University of Illinois campus, Champaign police are warning citizens to be careful.
Shortly before 5 a.m. Friday, a female jogger was attacked by an unknown man in the 500 block of East White Street. The man knocked the 21-year-old Champaign woman to the ground, but ran away after she screamed and fought with him, according to police.
