Judge assigns attorneys to defend two suspects
Attorneys from Springfield and Decatur have been appointed to represent two Chicago men accused of murdering a Douglas County sheriff's deputy.
Macon County Judge Tim Steadman was assigned earlier this week to hear the trials of Yusef Brown, 25, and William Thompson, 26. They are accused of the murder of Tommy K. Martin, the chief deputy for the Douglas County sheriff's office who was shot on June 21 and died July 17 of his injuries.
