Farmer City Council plans for land-swap hearing
FARMER CITY – After a 25-minute meeting Monday night, Farmer City council members readily acknowledged that next Monday night's public hearing about a proposed land swap with the Farmer City Fair Association will not be as short.
The hearing is set for 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at the American Legion Hall west of Woodlawn Country Club off Grove Street in Farmer City. City Manager David Joswiak said Robin Hanna of the Illinois Institute of Rural Affairs at Western Illinois University will present a report of economic development options and a related cost analysis. Joswiak said the hearing will be to exchange ideas, gather information and hear opinions.
