Man convicted of robbery, acquitted of other charges
URBANA – A Champaign County jury returned a mixed set of verdicts in the case of a Champaign man accused of forcing his way into his ex-girlfriend's home, beating her, and stealing from her.
The jury deliberated about four hours before acquitting Sean A. Gentle, 37, of the 400 block of East Beardsley Avenue of home invasion and residential burglary. But the five men and seven women convicted him of robbery.
