Truck hit by train in Gibson City
GIBSON CITY – A Mount Vernon truck driver escaped serious injury early today when his truck was struck by a train in Gibson City.
Illinois State Police at Ashkum said Bert R. Walker, 31, was driving north on Illinois 47 in Gibson City at 3:30 a.m. when he failed to stop at a railroad crossing and was hit by an eastbound train.
